BPA TRAINING AT BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY

It’s always great to spend time with the next generation of forensic scientists and we are proud of the partnerships that we have built with various universities to deliver certified BPA training that enhances the existing curriculum.

The approach taken by Bournemouth University is simple but effective. The student journey starts with access to the Introduction to BPA online course, so that they can build an understanding of the foundations in their own time between other final year commitments. This is followed by a face-to-face lecture, dealing with more complex BPA applications. During this session, students can put their BPA knowledge into practice as they evaluate BPA across a series of case scenarios. Then we supplement the theoretical content with a series of practical sessions exploring blood dynamics in detail.

Hear it, see it, do it!

The students develop skills in: 

• Applying objective criteria in pattern recognition

• Evidence interpretation

• Critical thinking

Each session becomes part of their professional development journey, and they leave the experience with a Certificate of Attendance that they can add to their CVs.
